| i was thinking about goddesses and luna came to mind , i imagined her as witness to all kinds of elementals and personifications of the natural world , and wrote down how she might see a seastorm |
|
luna
the raging salt packed wind
was wild illusion in her fevered head
yet the sylph of western breezes writhed in the fearsome fury of the storm
shell boats tossed across the bay lay crumpled on the sand
while out to sea the siren smiled
in the whipped and swirling crimson
her iron eyes adored the sky
as sunbeams chanced to peep through the frenzied mad melee
she danced to see them glitter on the spray
laughed her lucky laugh
dived deep among the kelp and hid away
these shores so splendid in their ruin
the sea the sylphwind on the run
red seafire of the passing sun
and jagged lashed
the rocks hold fort before the land
sure luna would not summon such ferocity at night
her lure the gentle silver scattering of light
