wandering on devon's dartmoor and bound for a distant hilltop tavern , passing by fields of corn i imagined how elementals and fae might be attuned to the presence of goddesses , all coming together to hear and feel the beautiful entrancing tunes from the cellos of ceres

the windy peak cliff cavern

where the old and bleaky tavern

waits high and hazy

landmark oer the dippy dartmoor dawn

by legend of the beechy bark

in bendy boughs the trilling lark

sings with the cello's lilt

the gentle healing sounds

wrap carpeting the ground

around where ceres city once was built

all flowing and unfolding

spilling into spaces

filling silent places with melodious mellow waves

dear ceres and her cello

she is the one appointed to tend fair waving corn

and many are her helpers

   winged wildling

  faerie foundling

  sylphy windling

caress seedlings as they drink the dew of dawn

of ceres and her cellos they are born

This one is definitely my favorite. I like the flow and your non traditional usages. Of course, my son plays the cello, so it’s possible I’m a little biased, but I don’t think so.

This one is my favorite of yours. I’m an opera singer and I love it when other people appreciate the power of music! And I’m a nut for mythological references 12

As one who is very familiar with the wonders of Dartmoor, i can really appriciate this poem. it is a beautiful tribute, your talent with words is incredible. I love how the poem has a lilting rhythm, and it seems to trip merrily off the tongue so easily, just like a moorland strem tumbles over the rocks. Charming.
